Transgressive take over Rough Trade as Label Focus

In a year that's seen us turn 15 in uproarious style, through packed stage takeovers at The Great Escape, Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds, the celebrations continue into the autumn with the news that we are partnering up with Rough Trade.

Rough Trade Shops have made us its Label Focus across the next six weeks. To celebrate this partnership, a series of special releases will be made available exclusively in its two London stores, Nottingham, Bristol and New York.

The list of releases includes a 300-only pressing of the first four seminal Foals albums on limited edition cassette format - 2008's Antidotes, 2010's Total Life Forever, 2013's Holy Fire, and 2015's What Went Down - plus a covers 7" from Calpurnia which includes their spirited renditions of Weezer's Say It Ain't So and Pixies' Where Is My Mind. Repressed for the first time since release, in a bid to tackle the Discogs traders where copies often sell in the triple figures, the acclaimed first two albums from Johnny Flynn - A Larum and Been Listening - will once more be available on deluxe vinyl formats.
And to mark the occasion, Johnny Flynn will appear in an extremely rare and exclusive one-off solo set at Rough Trade East on Friday October 18th. This will mark his first announced London appearance since his sold out headline show at The Roundhouse two years ago. Entry will be strictly limited to those that either purchase the repressed vinyl stock for either of Flynn's albums, or indeed, any other Transgressive title sold within the store during the next two weeks. Transgressive label staff will also hold down DJ-ing duties on the night, and Johnny will sign records after his performance. For all details, head here to the Rough Trade website.

Also available whilst stocks last is an exclusive "Transgressive Is 15" CD compilation, featuring material from our roster, including (in no particular order) SOPHIE, Flume, Songhoy Blues, Julia Jacklin, Let's Eat Grandma, Foals, Blaenavon, Hippo Campus, Cosmo Sheldrake plus brand new signings such as Arlo Parks, KOKOKO!, Julien Chang, Benny Mails, Boniface and Calpurnia. 15 songs from 15 extremely vital and diverse artists, marking 15 extraordinary years: the perfect snapshot of what we're all about.
