Songhoy Blues have shared another track ahead of the release of their new album Optimisme this Friday. Bon Bon is streaming on all platforms now - watch the lyric video below.
Of the track, the band offered "Bonbon is a French word for candy. In this track, we’re talking about immigration and emigration. We’re telling guys in Mali - in Africa - who want to have a better life in Europe that the idea of Paris or London is very sparkly, but when you get there, the reality is different. People in Africa think that the farther away from your hometown you are, the more likely you are to find an El Dorado, a better life, a paradise. This is not true. You can find your paradise everywhere when you work hard."
Optimise is out this Friday 23rd October - preorder your copy on limited gold vinyl here.
