Hippo Campus release their debut album ‘landmark’ in February

Since announcing their debut album landmark last year, Hippo Campus have released two songs, boyish and monsoon, both with music videos. The two songs illustrate two sides of the album, the joy and exuberance of boyish verses the reflection on monsoon. There is now a third to hear before the album is released in full in February, on the 24th to be precise, and they play a series of UK shows this month. way it goes can be heard in our New Releases playlist or you can watch the video, premiered by Noisey on YouTube.

The band said the following on the meaning behind it way it goes,

"Set in early spring on a frozen lake in Cumberland Wisconsin, "way it goes" was a moment of clarity; a realisation that we are comedy. We exist in a world where our main news source is a social media website. Materialism is our dogma. We seek to control the way our peers perceive us. We engage social issues as a backdrop for our personal drama. It's the rare moments when we can escape from this artificial reality, that really matter."

The other songs from the band, can be heard on Spotify and Apple Music where you can also follow the band and add the music to your library. Of course, there are physical versions coming, and we have a limited edition orange LP as well as a CD edition available to pre-order.

To see the band live, find your nearest UK show in the list below. For international tour dates check out their site.

Produced by BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Francis & The Lights, Low), we're really excited for you to hear more from landmark, either live or when the album is out. The classic songwriting that's on South or Suicide Saturday is still there, with some fresh sounds, experimentation and sonic discovery thrown in.
