It's rapidly approaching the first anniversary of Hippo Campus' debut album landmark and the final song on that album has become a bit of a favourite for anyone who's been to see one of their packed out shows recently. To get the video made they worked closely with their hometown Minnesota's College Of Art and Design, enlisting director Noah Farrar and animator Aaron Yankowiak.
"While making the video, something I wanted to do was push this idea of not directly creating a narrative, but also not creating something that had no sense of relevance, I aimed for something that the viewer can freely think about and follow, while simply being a visually enjoyable video that matches the energy that the song gives off. The general evolution of the video from start to finish felt very organic and I was given a lot of freedom/creative direction which really allowed for it to go beyond what was initially anticipated. It made us think differently about certain aspects of animation and pushed us to keep progressing and trying new things which was a whole experience in itself."
