Palaces, the epic and expansive new album from Grammy-winning artist Flume, is at last out today on Transgressive and Future Classic - listen/share here, and tune in here at 3pm BST to watch the video for ‘Highest Building’, featuring French artist Oklou by creative director Jonathan Zawada and director Michael Hili.
The album features the previously shared ‘Say Nothing’ with MAY-A, ‘Sirens’ with Caroline Polachek and co-written and co-produced with Danny L Harle, ‘Palaces’ with Damon Albarn and ‘ESCAPE’ with Kučka and Quiet Bison. Further guests on the album include Spain’s Virgen Maria, France’s Oklou, British singer LAUREL and Australia’s Emma Louise.
Much of the record was premiered live onstage during a bewitching nightfall set at last month’s Coachella, including a kaleidoscopic run of surprise guests such as the aforementioned Albarn, Polachek and Kučka, plus Beck, Toro Y Moi, Tove Lo and Vince Staples. The performance was globally streamed both weekends via YouTube, reaching hundreds of thousands of people around the world, not only showcasing the jaw-dropping grace and majesty of an all-new stage-show and production, but also unveiling a groundbreaking and breathtaking integration of AR (as documented by Time Magazine).
Tickets are now on sale for the Flume World Tour, Stage 2 of which is in the UK and Europe this summer. He will play shows in London, Berlin and Paris, as well as festival appearances at Pohada Festival, Dour Festival, Mad Cool and Super Bock Super Rock. Supporting acts include a sweep of our generation’s most gripping names, Floating Points, Channel Tres, Tinashe, Magdalena Bay and beyond. Purchase tickets and register for pre-sale at flu.me.
