Arlo Parks has shared her brand new single Hurt, alongside its accompanying music video, which was directed by long-time collaborator Molly Burdett (Black Dog, Sophie, Super Sad Generation) - wath below.
Premiered as the Hottest Record on Annie Mac's BBC 1 Radio show, Hurt is a beautifully spun track that fills the room with emotion in the way only Arlo can, her soft vocals amplified by a
powerful spoken word interlude as the song progresses. Arlo says about the track,
"Hurt surrounds the possibility of healing from pain and the temporary nature of suffering. It is supposed to uplift and comfort those going through hard times."
Hurt follows Arlo’s recent breakout single Black Dog, which has amassed close to 10,000,000 streams worldwide and hit the A-List at both BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music simultaneously for weeks on end. Arlo also performed the song live in front of the Pyramid Stage as part of this year’s Glastonbury coverage. Recent features have
seen her grace the cover of the NME, as well as being included on the 2020 Dazed 100 List.
At last week’s AIM Independent Music Awards, she won first place in their One to Watch category.
Parks has spent the summer adding the final touches to her debut album, more news of which will follow soon.
